Amir Khan and Kell Brook will finally meet in the ring.
Both are well past their primes but their names still resonate. Khan-Brook has a Hector “Macho” Camacho- Sugar Ray Leonard feel.
The Camacho-Leonard fight ended in the fifth round when Camacho stopped Leonard, effectively ending one of America’s most decorated fighters’ career.
Khan (34-5, 21 KOs) hasn’t fought in two and a half years. In some of Khan’s biggest fights not has he lost, he’s gotten blown away. In losses to Terence Crawford, Canelo Alvarez, and Danny Garcia, he never made it past six rounds.
It’s what is maddening about his career. His performances never met the standards of his potential.
On the other side, Kell Brook isn’t as well known as Khan, in part because he didn’t fight in the US as much.
What is does have in common with Khan is, he’s never won on the biggest stage. Brook has losses to Crawford (4th round TKO), Errol Spence (11th round KO), and Gennady Golovkin (5th round TKO).
Out of the two fighters, Brook does have the best win. Brook defeated Shawn Porter by Majority Decision.
Over the years Khan and Brook has verbally sparred as they’ve tried to occupy to the same territory in the hearts and minds of boxing fans in the UK.
Prediction:
There’s a reason why I brought up the Camacho-Leonard fight. This fight will end around the middle rounds. Khan by KO/TKO
