Maryland’s offense was very efficient against Old Dominion in the first game of the season. Today, the offense was out and out dominant in the Terps 82-52 win over Navy. Eric Ayala and Darryl Morsell led the Terps in scoring in 15 points each.
Maryland shot 68.2 percent from the field on 30-of-44 shooting, its highest shooting percentage since shooting at a 73.9 percent clip (34-for-46) against Wake Forest on Jan. 28, 1986. It is the fifth-highest single-game shooting percentage in program history.
Morsell (6-6) and Galin Smith (6-6) were perfect from the floor. This is the second game Maryland had a player perfect from the floor. Ayala didn’t miss a shot against Old Dominion.
The Terps was in a back and forth affair with Navy until a 10-0 run broke a tie game in the first half before settling on a 32-25 halftime lead.
In the second half, Maryland exploded. Ayala started off the half hitting a three pointer. The basket kicked off an 11-3 run to start the half.
The would Terps outscored Navy 50-27 in the half.

- Maryland was 7-10 from the three-point line the half. They were 8-15 from long distance for the game.
- Andrew Wiggins scored all 14 points in the second half
- Freshman Hakim Hart notched his first double-digit game with 11 points
