Georgetown heads into the UMBC series off a win over Mount St. Mary’s.
In the 4-2 win, Johan Franco (2-0) struck out six in five innings, giving up one earned run.
Kavi Caster went 2-4, and Matthew Sapienza picked up his first save of the season.
“I thought Johan Franco gave us an unbelievable start, which he has done all year, and he just gave us length, five innings and a career-high six strikeouts were excellent. I thought Axel Johnson was solid when he came in behind him and Jake Anderson really settled us when we needed to get a big double play to get out of a jam.
