College Football Picks: Friday Night Lights

Conference Championship weekend is here!

Even if you don’t know anything about the participating teams, the games are tempting to turn on your television, even if it’s background noise.

UNLV (10-2) vs. Boise State (11-1)
Line: Boise State -4.5
Total: 57.5

Most experts have already put Boise State in the College Football Playoff, but they still need one more win. There’s no guarantee that Boise State can sustain a loss and still earn a bid.

UNLV lost the first meeting, 29-24. The Running Rebels would love to spoil the Broncos playoff run, but tonight won’t be the night.

With that being said, this looks a lot like a field goal game.
Pick: UNLV 4.5

Tulane (9-3) vs. Army (10-1)
Line: Tulane -5.5
Total: 45.5

Tulane’s eight-game winning streak ended with a loss to Memphis, so the immediate question is motivation. Will the Green Wave be dialed in?

Army was rolling until Notre Dame blew them out at Yankee Stadium. But what the Black Knights do well, Tulane doesn’t. Army runs the ball well, and Tulane doesn’t stop the run well.

Both teams will be able to score.
Pick: o45.5

Western Kentucky (8-4) vs. Jacksonville St. (8-4)
Line: Jacksonville St. -4.5
Total: 58.5

Can Western Kentucky defeat Jacksonville St. in back-to-back weeks?

Would a Jacksonville St. win give Rich Rodriguez another shot at the West Virginia job?

That would inspire a great week of practice and a creative coaching staff.
Pick: Jacksonville St. -4.5
