With Texas aiming for a College Football Playoff spot, Oklahoma is trying to get in the conversation. Every season, the Red River Rivalry has a theme, and the first year for the expanded playoff is at the forefront of this one.

First things first, Quin Ewers will start for Texas. Last season, Ewers was 31-37 for 346 yards, one touchdown, and two interceptions in the Longhorns’ 34-30 loss.

If there’s anything Oklahoma is struggling with, it’s stability at the quarterback position. The Sooners started the season with Jackson Arnold but has since moved to freshman Michael Hawkins Jr. The quarterback position isn’t the only concern on offense. Oklahoma’s offensive line has been a cause for concern.

Oklahoma’s path to victory is a stubborn defense that gives the offense a short field and a score or two on that side of the ball.

Line: Texas -14.5
Total: 49.5
Pick: Texas -14.5

In another era, Lane Kiffin vs. Brian Kelly would have been the battle of the press conferences leading up to the game. Both coaches have personalities that can be over the top, just in a different way.

The similarity lies in how explosive each team’s offense has been this season. Jaxson Dart should be able to attack LSU’s secondary, while Garrett Nussmeier has been able to operate behind an offensive line that has kept him clean.

Both teams already have a loss, and this game could be the difference between making the playoffs or barely missing.

Line: LSU -3.5
Total: 62.5
Pick: LSU -3.5

Ohio State finally has a chance to face a team that can push them. The trip to Eugene will give the Buckeyes a chance to shut up their doubters (like me).

This game could determine who gets the bye in the College Football Playoffs.

This could be a close game, and I like that Oregon won a close game this season when the Ducks knocked off Boise State.

Line: Ohio State -3.5
Total: 54.5
Pick: Oregon +3.5
