During an ugly stretch in the first half, North Carolina had gone over four minutes without a field goal in its exhibition against Winston-Salem State.
That came to an end in a thunderous fashion as a freshman, Caleb Wilson dunked on some poor Winston-Salem State player’s head. Wilson would finish with 23 points and 10 rebounds in the 95-53 win, but Jim Tanner didn’t build this roster to get an exhibition win over an overmatched HBCU.
Tanner built the roster for March, and it’s Hubert Davis’ responsibility to still be in the tournament when CBS starts to run its Masters commercials.
