3rd and Long: Pipe Down Jerry; Chiefs’ Frustration

Jerry… Stop Talking about Micah Parsons
Heading into Sunday, Jerry Jones couldn’t keep Micah Parsons’ name out of his mouth. Jones let the world know that the Dallas Cowboys tried to trade Parsons to the Jets for a deal that would include star defensive tackle Quinnen Williams.

Of course, the Jets didn’t want any parts of it.

The better question is, why is Jones still talking about Parsons?

The regular season has started and the Cowboys are lucky to have beaten the New York Giants in overtime while the Green Bay Packers are coming off a dominant win over the Washington Commanders. Ask the Commanders how Parsons is fitting in with the Packers’ defense.
Jones and the front office need to worry about their struggling defense, not Micah Parsons.

Cardinals Are a Soft 2-0
When it comes to scheduling, the NFL isn’t college football. Teams can’t pencil in wins in the NFL in the same way they can in college football.

That brings us to the Arizona Cardinals.

The Cardinals have started the season 2-0 with wins over the Spencer Rattler led New Orleans Saints and the Carolina Panthers.
Neither win was impressive, especially the one against the Panthers where the Cardinals had to hang on to a 27-22 win after having a 27-3 lead.

Arizona committed 12 penalties and looked undisciplined, especially on defense.

Chiefs Step Back
The late game exchange between Chris Jones and Jalen Hurts tells you where the Kansas City Chiefs are right now.

Chris Jones: “You don’t even have 100 yards.”
Jalen Hurts: “We won the f*ckin game shut your ass up.”

It’s safe to say that the 0-2 start by the Chiefs is more than just a blip on the radar.

In the first two games of the season, the offense has been average at best which is why the Travis Kelce play was so big. To take what should have been a touchdown and turn it into an interception is something the Chiefs can’t afford even with the way the defense played yesterday.

The good news for Kansas City is that Denver gave away a game at Indianapolis yesterday.
