Freeman Continues to Win on Recruiting Trail

Marcus Freeman has done it again.

The Notre Dame coach continues to land top prospects on the recruiting trail.

It’s being reported that four-star wide receiver Kaydon Michael will choose Notre Dame over Texas. The signing is significant on several fronts.

First of all, Notre Dame has beaten Texas to a player whose father, former NFL standout Jermichael Finley, played for Texas. That’s a big win for Freeman.

The Fighting Irish is the destination of choice for several sons of former NFL players (more on that later).

Secondly, the win coming at the wide receiver position is news-worthy. Notre Dame has struggled at this position for several seasons. Finley had every reason to choose Texas over Notre Dame on this alone. Yet, Freeman convinced Michael to be part of a much-needed turnaround at that position.

If you believe in momentum, can Freeman maintain it by securing a commitment from Devin Fitzgerald? And, yes, Fitzgerald is the son of a former NFL great… Larry Fitzgerald.

Notre Dame is also in the running for four-star wide receiver Brayden Robinson.

Freeman delivered a National Championship title game appearance last season, and the expectations this season are to challenge for the title again despite the schedule and questions at quarterback.

However, most of all, Notre Dame’s program is seeking to regain the championship pedigree it had under Lou Holtz.

In the highly competitive NIL-driven recruiting world, Freeman and the Fighting Irish are proving that they can compete.
