Durant Traded to Houston

Various outlets are reporting that Kevin Durant has been traded to the Phoenix Suns.

The Rockets were one of Durant’s desired destinations.

Houston Receives: Kevin Durant
Phoenix Receives: Jalen Green, Dillon Brooks, 2025 Draft 10th Pick, 5 Second-Round Picks.

Houston Outlook:

The Rockets will plug in Kevin Durant with a projected starting lineup of Amen Thompson, Fred VanFleet, Jabari Smith, and Alperen Sengun.

Instantly, it’s one of the best starting lineups in the NBA.

Not only did Houston manage to hold on to Smith, but also Tari Eason.

Time will tell if Reed Shephard is ready for rotation minutes this season. If Houston can solidify an effective 8.5-man rotation, a deep run in the playoff is on the table.

Phoenix Outlook:

The Suns needed to start reshaping their roster in some way, and Durant was the most logical way of doing it.

Bradley Beal’s contract is borderline impossible to trade, and Devin Booker has been the staple of the organization.

If this is the Suns’ only move, you’re looking at adding Brooks and Green to a starting lineup that includes Beal and Booker.

Is that good enough to avoid the Play-In Tournament, or are the Suns trying to make more moves?
