After striking out on center Noah Williamson, North Carolina finally struck gold with a commitment from Arizona transfer Henri Veesaar.
The 7-foot redshirt sophomore averaged 9.4 points and 5.1 rebounds per game and was named Big 12 Honorable Mention.
MTC Media’s Marcus “Mook” Washington broke down Veesaar’s season when he visited Chapel Hill.
Veesaar fills a big void, literally and figuratively, in the paint and provides Hubert Davis with experience in that position.
James Brown (6’10”) only appeared in 18 games, mainly in mop-up duty. Zayden High (6’9″) didn’t play at all.
That meant Davis’ squad had to use a myriad of undersized players like Ven-Allen Lubin.
North Carolina has roughly three scholarships to play with right now, but that might grow when Ian Jackson and Drake Powell decide on their future.
Jonathan Powell (West Virginia) committed to North Carolina earlier in the cycle.
