Can Odom Win in Charlottesville? (VIP)

Ryan Odom was officially announced as Virginia’s head coach.

Odom follows Bennett’s handpicked interim head coach, Ron Sanchez.

Ryan’s father, Dave, was once an assistant coach at Virginia under head coach Terry Holland.

Odom’s fit at Virginia seems almost too good to be true. On paper, he’s perfect for Virginia’s program, alumni base, and community. But, as we know, “on paper” doesn’t equate to wins.

Odom is the third new head coach in the ACC. Jai Lucas (Miami) and Luke Loucks (Florida State).

Outside of Duke, the ACC has gone from the dean of coaches to a conference wandering in the wilderness.

There is an opportunity in the ACC to restore Virginia to the top 2-5 program simply because the conference has continued to slide.
