The Denver Nuggets had been a pain in the Los Angeles Lakers’ side.
Not only have they eliminated the Lakers from the playoffs twice, but they haven’t hidden that they enjoyed sending them on vacation more than any other team in the league.
Even with the addition of Luka Doncic, most of the ABC/ESPN pregame crew expected the Nuggets to find a way to beat the Lakers. Even when the Lakers were leading at halftime, it was repeatedly mentioned that the Lakers had been leading at halftime in all five playoff games last season, and LA lost four of them.
Last night wouldn’t be one of those nights.
Los Angeles dominated Denver from top to bottom in the 123-100. A win so dominant that Nuggets head coach Mike Malone pulled his starters with about four minutes left.
