There are only a few NFL weekends left with each weekend presenting us with fewer and fewer games.
We are going to start off with Saturday’s games.
Odds are courtesy of ESPN Bet
Houston Texans at Kansas City Chiefs (4:30 ESPN/ABC)
Line: Kansas City -8
Total: 41.5
The Los Angeles Chargers were a popular pick last week, but here we are. The Houston Texans’ defense was on point, and the offense did enough. This is Andy Reid’s time of year. The Chiefs have had a ho-hum season that led to a 15-2 record. From a betting perspective, the question isn’t as much of win or lose as can the Chiefs cover and if the total is too high because there’s still a question on whether the Texan’s offense can do their part. Pick: u41.5 (-110)
At times, Pat Mahomes looked disinterested in the regular season, but that won’t be a problem come Saturday. What would a big Mahomes performance be without an over-the-top performance from Travis Kelce? I like Kelce o5.5 receptions (-134).
The Texans can’t go anywhere without Joe Mixon, so you know they will stay with him in the game plan for as long as possible. Mixon o70 Rushing + Receiving Yards (-200).
Washington Commanders at Detroit Lions (8:00 Fox)
Line: Detroit -9.5
Total: 55.5
The Commanders continued their last-second wins with one at Tampa Bay. Washington will have to bring every bit of luck to Detroit if they want to beat the Lions. Detroit is the largest favorite on the board this weekend. A week off should help a Lions team that always seems hurt.
The line is the most interesting aspect of this. If you think Jayden Daniels will look like a rookie, Detroit -9.5 is the play. If you don’t and you think the Washington offense will get rolling, the over 55.5 is in play.
I’m rolling with the Lions -9.5 (-110).
I like Detroit to jump out to an early lead, and the Lions will try to force Daniels to pass. Terry McLaurin will make plays. Give me McLaurin 80+ yards receiving (+130). Zach Ertz, at o3.5 receptions, has incredible value at (+110).
Doesn’t this feel like a Sam LaPorta touchdown game? I wish I had the guts to go with 2+ touchdowns, but I’m going with LaPorta 1+ (+145) touchdown. Amon-Ra St. Brown Longest Reception, o22.5 (-125) feels right.
