Instant Reaction to Washington’s 42-19 win over the Tennessee Titans.
Bruising Running Game: The running game was humming no matter who Washington had in the backfield. The Commanders finished with 267 yards rushing as the offensive opened holes that an 18-wheeler could run through. Brian Robinson Jr. rushed for 103 yards, while Chris Rodriguez chipped in with 93 yards. The running game is the primary reason Washington ran 77 plays while Tennessee ran just 50.
Daniels Was Dialing: Jayden Daniels had an interception on a tipped ball, but for the most part, today marked the return of what we saw out of Daniels when he was cooking. Daniels finished the day 25-30 for 206 yards and three touchdowns. He ran for 34 yards and a touchdown. When Daniels’ play and Kliff Kingsbury’s playcalling marry, Washington has one of the best offenses in the NFL.
Proper Response: It’s never a good time to have a three-game losing streak, especially when one of the losses comes to a mediocre Dallas Cowboys team, but Washington responded by taking a 28-0 lead in the first half. This week was full of talk asking if Daniels had hit the rookie wall and whether this was the beginning of Kingsbury’s playbook being figured out. Now, Washington heads into the bye week in control of the last playoff spot, and depending on what Philadelphia does against Baltimore, it will be a shot at the division.
