Mason Steamrolls Stony Brook

It could have gone two ways for Tony Skinn’s team.

After the emotional loss to Marquette, the Patriots could have had a hangover or blowout a team from the CAA. They chose to blowout a team from the CAA.

Darius Maddux led the Patriots in scoring with 20 in their 94-56 win. Giovanni Emejuru had 17 points and 8 rebounds. Zach Anderson went 5-10 from three finishing with 15 points.

George Mason’s season is going to go with how the point guard position plays. Last night, the four-headed monster of Brayden O’Connor, KD Johnson, Justin Begg, and Jeremiah Quigley combined for only six turnovers. As a team, the Patriots only turned the ball over 10 times.

Coming into the season, the other question the Patriots had was three-point shooting. Anderson hit his first three three-pointers as Mason made 10 three pointers on 40.7% shooting. In the prior two games, the Patriots shot 10-41 from the three-point line.

Up next for George Mason is Central Michigan.
