This week’s gift is all three games will be available for free with five of the six teams being ranked.

Enjoy!!!

NC State (2-1) at (21) Clemson (1-1)
Line: Clemson -18.5
Total: 43.5

I don’t like this line at all. Of course, the bookmakers are trying to drive money on the NC State side of the ledger. The Wolfpack haven’t put together a complete game, they don’t have a pass rush, and they hit the road against a Clemson team that might be getting the oars rowed in the same direction. Most of the time when there’s a line like this I’ll take the team that can cover in multiple ways. That would be Clemson. The Tigers can cover if Klubnik doesn’t turn the ball over. The Tigers can cover if the defense plays the way it can at home. The Wolfpack will be rolling out freshman C.J. Bailey (Grayson McCall is out with an unspecified injury). This could get ugly in Death Valley.
Pick: Clemson -18.5

(11) USC (2-0) at (18) Michigan (2-1)
Line: USC -5.5
Total: 44.5

There’s no doubt in my mind that USC is a playoff team that will be a serious threat if its defense gels by the end of the season. After three games, I don’t know if the same can be said about Michigan. This game will come down to the Wolverines’ running game vs. the Trojans’ defense. The only way Michigan has a chance to win the game is if they can keep USC’s offense off the field by staying in front of the chains and eating clock. If not, USC can turn this game into an offensive a battle… a battle Michigan can’t win. With the line sitting at 5.5 points the big question becomes does USC win by that much on the road. If Michigan turns the ball over, they will.
Pick: USC -5.5

(6) Tennessee at (15) Oklahoma
Line: Tennessee -6.5
Total: 56.5

So many storylines. Josh Heupel returns to the place that he guided to a National Championship. The Volunteers are trying to get their first road win over a top 15 team since 2006. Like Michigan, if Oklahoma wants to have a chance to win, its defense will have to lead the way. The Sooners will have its work cut out for them against Tennessee’s quarterback Nico Iamaleava. In four starts, Iamaleava is undefeated with two wins over ranked opponents. The Sooners offense has been up-and-down against subpar competition with freshman running back Taylor Tatum being the teams most explosive player. Tatum will need to help Javontae Barnes and quarterback Jackson Arnold in the running game.
Pick: Tennessee -6.5
