Baltimore showed who they were last night. They were just an inch away from having a chance for a road win over royalty.
In a game that was anything but perfect, Lamar Jackson was 5-7 on the final drive before Isaiah Likely had a toe on a line. Jackson’s night looked like a gamer playing Madden. He was 26-41 for 273 yards and one touchdown pass. On the ground, Jackson rushed for 122 yards. It was a reminder that Jackson might be one of the most dangerous and disrespected two-time MVPs in league history.
Jackson’s performance almost makes you forget all of the illegal formations the Ravens were guilty of… almost.
Once offensive coordinator Todd Monken figures out how to use Derrick Henry, what can the offense be?
Baltimore looked different from the team that faced the Chiefs in last year’s playoffs. Jackson looked borderline arrogant about his ability to beat anything the Chiefs showed. This is the polar opposite of what we saw last season when Jackson looked unsure against Kansas City’s defense.
That’s why the Ravens have to be optimistic despite last night’s loss. Baltimore showed who they were, but more importantly, it gave off hints of where they are going.
