Hubert Davis’ brief career as North Carolina’s head coach has been one of extremes.

Davis’ first year as head coach saw the Heels make it to the National Championship game. However, the following season, despite the return of key players, the team missed the tournament, raising questions about Davis’ coaching decisions. Last season, a single poor shot selection was all that stood between North Carolina and an Elite Eight match-up with Clemson.

Early on, Davis received good news when RJ Davis decided to return to Chapel Hill. This ensured that the Heels would have their starting backcourt intact. With a year under his belt, Davis expects Elliot Cadeau to build upon a solid freshman year that ended with some of Cadeau’s struggles being brought to light.
