There’s some profit in being mentioned as a candidate for the Los Angeles Lakers head coaching job.
Just a few weeks ago, the possibility of Lue stepping in as Darvin Ham’s replacement was a hot topic, with many anticipating an extension offer from the Los Angeles Clippers.
Several outlets are reporting that the two parties have reached a deal to keep Lue in the Clippers’ red, white, and blue.
The Clippers have reached agreements with Lue and Kawhi Leonard that will ensure they’ll be on the sidelines when NBA Governor Steve Ballmer opens the Intuit Dome. However, there’s still work to be done.
Los Angeles will have stiff competition to retain the services of Paul George and James Harden.
George is expected to be hotly pursued by the Philadelphia 76ers.

In his four seasons as Clippers head coach, Lue has gone 184-134 (.579).
