Lamont Roach Jr. to Defend WBA World Title Against Feargal McCrory

Lamont “The Reaper” Roach (24-1-1, 9 KOs) is set to defend his WBA Super Featherweight belt on June 28th against Feargal “Fearless” McCrory (16-0, 8 KOs) at Entertainment & Sports Arena (ESA) in Washington D.C.

Roach won the title with a split decision win (116-111, 114-113 and 113-114 ) over Héctor García last November in Las Vegas, dropping the champion in the final round enroute to victory.

“Coming home to defend my title is a dream come true, and I can’t wait to fight in front of so many friends and family. I know he’s (McCrory) coming for my world title, wanting to keep his ‘0’ and make a name for himself,” said Roach Jr., who will be fighting in the DC area for just the fourth time in his career after bouts in Maryland (2017) and two at the DC Armory, including his 2014 pro debut.

The co-Main Event will feature undefeated Lester Martinez (17-0, 15 KOs) taking on Ecuadoran Carlos Gongora (22-2, 17 KOs) in a 10-round super welterweight tilt, while former world champion Joshua Franco (18-2-3, 8 KOs) of San Antonio, Texas will battle Geraldo Valdez (16-1, 11 KOs) of Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic in a 10-round super flyweight contest.

Select bouts will be streamed on ProBox TV.
