Maryland head coach Kevin Willard added another DMV piece to the program.
This time, it was on the coaching staff.
Willard announced that Kevin Norris will join the Terps’ coaching staff as an assistant coach.
Norris is coming to College Park via UCF, where he was an assistant on Johnny Dawkins’ staff.
At UCF, Norris was on a staff that went 148-103, and the Knights earned their first-ever at-large bid to the NCAA tournament in 2019.
Before UCF, Norris coached at USC, UNC-Wilmington, Texas Corpus Christi, and Tallahassee Community College.
Norris is a Baltimore native who fits into Maryland’s local blueprint.
DeShawn Harris-Smith, Jaime Kaiser Jr., and Julian Reese are all players from the DMV.
On the coaching staff, Norris joins DMV natives David Cox (Landover, MD), Director of Basketball Operations Charlie Butler (Annapolis, MD), Director of Player Personnel Ricky Harris (Baltimore, MD).
