I’ve gone back-and forth on this one because it’s been a mixed back in both teams last five games. Basically, the over/under has been a 50-50 number in the last five for both teams. The last time the two teams played (late November), they combined for 222. I’m leaning on the under in this one.

George has eclipsed the 23 number in two of his last five games but in two of the three he didn’t make the number, he scored 23 on the nose. That’s two baskets away from being over 23.5 points in 4 of his last five.

Washington Wizards (+10.5) at Cleveland Cavaliers Total: 238.5
You never know what Wizards team you’re going to get because you don’t know if they’re coaching to win or to evaluate. The one thing we can count on is the fact that you know the Cavs are being coached to win.
Pick: Cleveland -10.5
Looking at the Donovan Mitchell combo stats, I immediately looked at the Points+Assists+Rebounds and saw the over/under at 42.5. In their game on January 3rd, Mitchell combined for 29 PAR in 24 minutes. That game was two days ago and the Cavs get a day off before they play the Spurs so Mitchell’s minutes should be higher tonight.

Portland Trail Blazers (+8.5) at Dallas Mavericks Total: 236.5
Portland returns home after to losing back-to-back games at Phoenix and Dallas. The Trail Blazers didn’t score 100 in either game. That worries me. They probably won’t lose by 29 tonight but the Mavericks have a good chance to score enough points to cover the 8.5.
Pick: Dallas -8.5
Doncic went for 41-6-5 when to the two teams met two days ago which wouldn’t cover the number tonight. In fact, Doncic has only exceeded 53.5 PAR once in the last five games. Like Mitchell, Doncic comes into tonight coming off an off-day with a day off tomorrow. Expect Doncic to put in a special performance.
