George Washington Basketball: Hofstra Takeaways

Summary:

George Washington got their third win in a row with a 71-60 win over Hofstra.

James Bishop had 17 points. Garrett Johnson had 15 points.

Tyler Thomas had 20 points and 8 rebounds for Hofstra while Darlinstone Dubar chipped in 17 points.

Takeaways:

  • Maximus Edwards isn’t there yet but he’s on his way to being a knockdown 3-point shooter. Right now, he’s a guy who can shoot the 3 but it can go up another couple of levels.
  • Speaking of Edwards, when he picked up his fourth, GW was down 53-51. They would go on an 11-0 run that grew to 18-2.
  • There’s more expected out of a coach’s son and Trey Autry is on his way. He’s a player that is learning but already has a knack for making the right play
  • I don’t want to criticize a coach’s ATO but Speedy Claxton came out of a timeout where GW is on a 7-0 run with a 5-out no-movement Thomas three-point attempt. Ugh
  • Tyler Thomas was determined to shoot the Pride in and out of the game. The final score tells you how that turned out. He had entirely too many contested shot attempts.
