College Football: Week 10 Recap

Week 10 in CFB gave us a better understanding of where many teams stand, as well as what teams will remain in the race in November. Teams can show out in September and October, but if they don’t perform in November, they will be watching bowl games come December.

Starting off with the teams that performed well. Alabama beat LSU 42-28. The Crimson Tide showed that they can win a game with their offense, as it is already known that they can win with their defense. Jalen Milroe had his best game yet, going 15/23 for 219 yards and rushing for 155 yards and 4 TDs. Yes, four rushing TDs for the Bama QB. If Alabama wins out, they will be in the SEC Championship game with a shot to go to the CFB playoffs. Look out for the Alabama Crimson Tide.

Georgia beat Missouri 30-21 in Athens. This was the first test for Georgia, and they passed. They continued their dominance defensively, which allowed them to outgain a good Missouri offense, 385-363 yards in total yards. Carson Beck, the Georgia QB, showed he is what the program says he is, going 21/32 with 254 passing yards and 2 TDs. Georgia is another week closer to getting Brock Bowers back, which means this offense will keep getting better. Look for them to face off against Alabama in the SEC Championship game.

Washington beat USC 52-42 in LA. It was a good win for a good team, except they gave up 42 points and 203 rushing yards. Washington still looks dominant and will remain dominant as long as that defense stays afloat. They don’t have to be dominant, but they do have to remain afloat. USC has fired their defensive coordinator, Alex Grinch, and with their 3rd loss, they are going downhill quick. Oh, and they have to play Oregon this upcoming weekend… Good luck.

Bedlam. Oklahoma St beat Oklahoma 27-24. Oklahoma is officially out of playoff contention, and Oklahoma St is now 2nd in the Big 12 behind Texas. Oklahoma allowed Alan Bowman to throw for 334 yards and Ollie Gordon to run for 137 yards and 2 TDs. Oklahoma also had eight penalties for 55 yards. If Oklahoma St wins out, they will be in the Big 12 Championship game.

Another notable team that performed well was Texas, who won 33-30 without Quinn Ewers. Texas is now first in the Big 12. Oregon handled business against California 63-19. Michigan beat Purdue 41-13. And Penn State defeated Maryland 51-15.
