Old Glory D.C. Recent Signings

Plus Rugby World Cup Watch Party

The Major League Rugby team of our Nation’s capital has made some significant recent signings to the squad in the month of October, bringing in both new faces and welcoming back familiar favorites to Old Glory this off season.

Additions to the team include Ethan McVeigh, the scrum half from the American Raptors Super Rugby Americas league, the two times capped USA Eagles center Tommaso Boni, and wingers Perry Humphreys and Axel Muller. The team also brought back to the line up Canadian born fly half Gradyn Bowd, another capped Eagle and Old Glory veteran Jack Iscaro the loosehead prop, fly half/fullback Mike “Chicken” Dabulas (great mustache by the way), and back as captian with 16 matches under his belt in the 2023 season along with a tackle rate of 90% at a total of 148 tackles, Jamason Fa’anana-Schultz.

Hopefully these new additions, along with the re-signing of some OG favorites, can help the team make that final match in the MLR Championship they just fell short of this past season. Which is something D.C. fans can proudly hang their cap on, but this is still a fairly new league and everyone is hungry for that title.

The 2024 Old Glory season may not be back for another few months, but that doesn’t have to put D.C. rugby fanatics in an off season slump because the Rugby World Cup finals are upon us. And the rivalry between New Zealand and South Africa is all but forgotten. You can catch the match at Arlington Draft House, 2903 Columbia Pike, for a watch party on October 28th, at 3 P.M. ET. So whether you’re rooting for the All Blacks or the Springboks you can still get your fix of rugby this weekend.

Well this concludes my first blog for MTC media. I appreciate the opportunity to get to talk some rugby. And always remember to grow the game.
