Commanders: Philadelphia Eagles Preview

Last Sunday, the Buffalo Bills came into FedEx and beat the brakes off of the Commanders.

It doesn’t get any easier this week when Washington travels to Philadelphia.

Sam Howell had a day to forget. Howell threw four interceptions and lived under the pressure of Ed Oliver and the rest of the Bills defense that registered nine sacks.

On the other side of the ball, Washington’s much-celebrated defense hardly gave Josh Allen anything to worry about.

Allen finished the day with 268 yards passing with a touchdown. More importantly, he wasn’t sacked.

The Eagles (3-0) will be working on a short week after their 25-11 win at Tampa Bay.

Despite the undefeated, Philadelphia hasn’t looked like the team that went to the Super Bowl last season.

Last season Jalen Hurts threw six interceptions. He already has three this season including two against Tampa Bay.

Keys:

Move Swiftly: Washington will have to find a way to contain D’Andre Swift. The former Detroit Lion running back has been a pleasant surprise for the Eagles. Swift is averaging 102.7 yards rushing per game.

Help Howell: This week should’ve set off sirens out at Ashburn. Helping out Howell should start with Eric Bieniemy’s game plan. Just like any young quarterback, Howell needs some assistance from the staff. A staff that needs to get the opposing defense on their heels.

Pressure Hurts: The defensive line’s ego had to be bruised by last Sunday’s performance. That can’t happen two weeks in a row. The line must play up to their press clippings.
