Why would Rivera say something to the media about players “concern” about the intensity of Bienemy?
Sure. It would have been leaked. I’m sure the beat reporters already knew about it but it’s different when the head coach brings it up in a formal media availability.
You don’t see that a lot, especially in the NFL.
Comments like that can adversely impact Bienemy’s chance to eventually get an NFL head coaching job and Rivera knows that. He’s been around too long not to know that.
Sure, the players whining is going to expose some generational differences. The players of yesteryear would have never said anything resembling this but we don’t live in that time.
But for the head coach to come out and make it a story… that’s career malpractice.
