Fulton-Inoue Timing is Off

Boxing deserves a lot of credit for the big-time fights that have taken place in 2023 and there are more to come in 2024.

With all eyes on Errol Spence and Terence Crawford, there’s another terrific fight between two undefeated boxers on Tuesday morning… yes… Tuesday morning.

Stephen Fulton (21-0, 8 KOs) will square off against Naoya Inoue on Tuesday in Tokyo, Japan.

The card will be streamed live on ESPN+ at 4:30 am ET/1:30 am PT.

The fight was initially scheduled for May 7th.

Fight Card

Stephen Fulton vs. Naoya Inoue, 12 rounds, Fulton’s WBC/WBO Junior Featherweight World Titles

Robeisy Ramirez vs. Satoshi Shimizu, 12 rounds, Ramirez’s WBO Featherweight World Title

Kanamu Sakama vs. Ryu Horikawa, 8 rounds, Light Flyweight

Yoshiki Takei vs. Ronnie Baldonado, 8 rounds, Junior Featherweight

Fulton followed up a Majority Decision win over Brandon Figueroa with a dominant unanimous decision win over Daniel Roman.

For Inoue, he’ll be looking to capture a belt in his fourth different weight class.

“Coming up to junior featherweight to be able to challenge Stephen Fulton for the title has given me great motivation. I get excited thinking about this fight and about how I will perform. I’ve been watching film of Fulton, and I think he is a very intelligent fighter.”

Key to the Fight

As simplistic as it sounds, it’s real estate. Whoever controls the real estate will be able to have the fight on their terms.

With that being said, it’s why I like Fulton.

Fulton’s power and counter-punching ability will carry the day.

I like Fulton by stoppage.
