Rumors continues to fly around about the sale of the Washington Commanders.
Bleacher Report has reported that Daniel Snyder might have to settle for a little less than his $7B asking price but $6.5B isn’t bad either.
No matter what happens, Snyder is going to walk away with a barrel full of money.
What is being loss in this is what happens if Snyder has a hankering to buy a team in another sport?
It something he hasn’t thought about it and it is probably be too late for him to go back and do things differently because there’s going to be a time when Snyder is going to want to have that professional ownership feel.
I’m sure in the back of his mind, professional leagues will have to take his money as longer as he’s the larger bidder. Who can say “no”?
Other billionaires who have watched your act from afar, that’s who!
Professional sports ownership is the ultimate billionaires club.
No matter how rich you are, they can always say “no” for whatever reason they would like.
Just ask Mark Cuban.
Three times Cuban tried to buy into Major League Baseball (Chicago Cubs, Los Angeles Dodgers, and Texas Rangers) and three times he came away with nothing.
Cuban’s inability to gain foothold in MLB had nothing to do with money and everything to do with the fact that the owners didn’t want to add Cuban to the club.
It’s why I’m a firm believer that the day the Washington Commanders are sold will be the day that Snyder starts to pay for his sins.
Not because he’ll go broke. That man will never go broke. He will suffer something even worse… his money will have no value and neither will he.
