The Hoyas come in off a tough 77-73 loss at Villanova. Georgetown had a chance to tie it late but they were undone by a Primo Spears turnover.
Xavier suffered their first Big East conference loss of the season when they were upended by DePaul 73-72.
The first time these two teams met, defense was optional. Xavier walked out of Cap One with a 102-89 victory.
Souley Boum led five Musketeers in double-digits with 28 points.
Georgetown was led by Primo Spears’ 22 points.
Keys for Georgetown:
Control the Boards: in the first meeting, the Hoyas were outrebounded 41-27. Jack Nunge had 12 rebounds compared to Qudus Wahab’s 7.
Ezewiro impact: If you’re looking for a bright spot, Bradley Ezewiro is it. He’s gone from looking like a football player playing basketball to being a contributor that Ewing’s staff would like to see develop into a basketball player built like a football player
Turnovers: Georgetown only had six turnovers the first time around. They will have to have something similar to that if they want to have a chance on the road.
