After a slow start, Dayton is where most expected them to be… at the top of the Atlantic 10. The Flyers are 4-0 in conference, 12-5 overall.
Earlier in the season, too many were willing to bury Dayton especially after a three-game losing streak and an embarrassing 28-point loss to Virginia Tech.
Now Dayton is riding a 7-game winning streak as they host VCU.

Last time out, the Flyers defeated Fordham 82-58.
Daron Holmes led the Flyers with 32 points.
VCU is in a similar position. At times, the Rams have been an after thought yet they have a 12-5 record, 4-1 in the Atlantic 10.
The Rams are currently on a two-game winning streak after a 78-64 win over Loyola-Chicago.

VCU won in a “VCU” type of way. The Rams received contributions from various places and six players scored in double-digits.
The balance came from the “Havoc” style defense that caused 22 turnovers.
