George Mason’s 2nd game of a 4 game homestand. George Mason checks in at 3-4
Last time out, the Patriots broke a 3-game losing streak with a win over Hofstra.
In the 72-65 win, Ronald Polite III had 16 and Josh Oduro had 15 points and 8 rebounds.
Hofstra (KenPom 124) comes into tonight’s game 6-2 with wins over George Washington and San Jose St.
The Pride is led by Aaron Estrada. Estrada is averaging 20.5 points per game. Estrada is a lefty that is shifty that shoots 40.5% from the three point line. He is a college three-level scorer.
Keys for Mason:
Take way the others: Estrada will be a handful but the Pride is more than a one-man band. Corralling Tyler Thomas and Darlinstone Dubar will be important.
Defense first: Hofstra eFG% ranks 67th in the nation. Their 3P% checks in at 46th in the nation. All the little defensive things will be important. Guarding ball screens. Running the right people off the line. Rotations. All that will be important.
Ball movement: On offense the ball must move. Assists aren’t always an indicator but if Mason can reverse the ball and attack on offense, they will be more effective. Hofstra hasn’t always been motivated on defense.
