Even in a win, Virginia left with questions. The Cavs left their trip to Georgia Tech with a 16-9 win. They are 3-4 overall and 1-3 in the conference.
It was another uneven performance
The offense was plagued by drops and Brennan Armstrong’s uneven performance. Armstrong threw two interceptions giving him 9 on the season.
Once again, Armstrong seemed to struggle between what he’s used to doing and what first year head coach, Tony Elliott wants him to do.
The other worry on offense was the running game. Armstrong ran for 91 yards but the running backs struggled throughout the night with Xavier Brown averaging under 4 yards a carry and Perris Jones only getting 17 yards on 10 carries.
UVA’s defense was the saving grace. The Cavs defense held Georgia Tech to 206 yards total offense. They were led by Nick Jackson’s 8 tackles.
Up next for Virginia is Miami (Fl)
