Maryland Basketball: Terps will face UCLA; sign Caelum Swanton-Rodger

Maryland announced a home and home with UCLA.

The Terps will play the Bruins at XFINITY Center on Dec. 14, 2022. Maryland will be making the trip to Pauley Pavilion to play on Dec. 22, 2023 during the 2023-24 season.

“We are excited to play one of the most storied programs in college basketball history as UCLA will come to College Park this upcoming season,” said head coach Kevin Willard. “Being close friends with UCLA head coach Mick Cronin, this is an exciting opportunity for us to compete on a national stage. I know our fans will be enthusiastic about UCLA coming to XFINITY and I look forward to seeing them come out in full force.”

Terps sign Canadian Caelum Swanton-Rodger

Maryland has signed Canadian big man Caelum Swanton-Rodger.

“Caelum is a great addition for our incoming class,” said Willard. “He is a high-motor center who is extremely active around the rim and on the defensive end. He’s very effective in pick-and-roll situations because of his athleticism around the basket.”

Swanton-Rodger (The 6-11, 220) has been a member of the Canadian National Team.
