Georgetown Women’s Basketball: Staff Addition

Georgetown University has added Walter Pitts to the 2022-23 women’s basketball staff as an assistant coach.

Pitts’ last stop was at the University of Virginia. He’s also coached at Jackson State and was the lead assistant coach for the Texas Legends in the NBA Development League along with stints at Texas Southern (Men), UNC-Greensboro, Wiley College and the Chinese Basketball League.

“We are excited to have Walter join our Hoya family,” said Georgetown Women’s head coach James Howard. “Walter has a proven track record of developing and recruiting players. His attitude, work ethic and competitiveness will fit right in with our core values here at Georgetown.”

Pitts played for the University of Alabama and before playing professionally in South America.

“I’m very blessed and excited to join Coach Howard and staff at Georgetown University,” said Pitts. “The opportunity to join a veteran staff was hard to pass up. The rich academic and athletic tradition on the Hilltop represent everything a student-athlete should want.”
