USA Hockey: Team USA opens with two wins at the U18 Women’s World Championship

Team USA Women’s U18 team has opened out with two wins at the 2022 IIHF Under-18 Women’s World Championship.

The Americans opened up with a 6-1 win over Sweden.

In that game, Cassie Hall led Team USA with three points (2G, 1A) in the winning effort.

“I thought we came out pretty hard at the start of the game,” head coach Katie Lachapelle said. “That was our focus, just focusing on ourselves and making sure we can get our feet moving and play together as a team.”

Team USA followed up the win over Sweden with a win over Finland.

In the 5-0 win, Tessa Janecke scored four points (2G, 2A) and Laila Edwards scores twice.
