NFL: The Why Matters

Daniel Snyder is back in the news and, once again, it’s for all the wrong reasons.

Snyder has been accused of having a toxic work environment.

That hasn’t been enough to hold Snyder accountable but the latest allegation might be.

It’s being reported that Snyder allegedly kept revenue that belongs to the league. Ticket revenues are split between the home team and a pool that gets distributed to all the teams in the league.

This could be the final straw for the fellow owners, who are also his business partners. There is honor amongst thieves and Snyder would’ve broken that when he skimmed money off the top.

If this misstep costs Snyder his ownership, most fans in the DMV will overjoyed.

With that being said, the “why” matters.

The way the Redskins/Football Team/Commanders treated women was revolting. That should’ve been enough for a full blown documented investigation that should’ve resulted in the removal of Snyder.

Instead of doing that, the NFL protected Snyder because the rest of the owners probably have similar if not worse work environments than Washington. The last thing the owners want is for Snyder to be held accountable for the women he allegedly mistreated.

That could open up the floodgates that even the most ironclad non-disclosure couldn’t save a bunch of self-indulged, privileged from.

If Snyder is removed, it has to be for his behavior.

It’s not enough to remove him for cheating his equally as disgusting business partners.

If NFL commissioner Roger Goodell needs some advice, just call Adam Silver. He understands the importance in the “why”.
