Boxing: Beltway Battles Round 2

Boxing returns to the Washington DC area on May 28th with Beltway Battles Round 2.

The 12 bouts card includes WBA-NABA Gold super lightweight champion Greg “Sharp Shooter” Outlaw, Jr. (10-1, 5 KOs) and lightweight contender Anthony Peterson (38-1-1, 24 KOs).

The event will take place at the Entertainment and Sports Arena. Doors will open at 5:00pm with first fight at 6:00pm.

“The return of professional boxing to the District is proof that #DCisOpen,” says John Falcicchio, Deputy Mayor of Planning and Economic Development. “Live events are not only important for the entertainment of our residents, but they create jobs and improve the economic vitality of our city that will help us progress forward post-pandemic.”

Outlaw won his first belt via 1st round TKO last month in Atlantic City.

“Fighting at home is always a beautiful thing. The love and support are unmatched,” said Outlaw, who has fought in the area previously, but is making his District debut on May 28. “I’m going to just continue to be the best me, put on my ‘A’ game and God willing coming out victorious.”

Peterson’s last three fights have seen a spectrum of decisions. He has a win, draw and no contest.

“It’s been a while since I fought in DC and it feels real good to be back in my city and do my thing and do what I do my best,” said Anthony Peterson

For those outside Washington, DC, the event will be live-streamed on FloCombat, part of the FloSports network, with undercards scheduled on the FIGHTNIGHT LIVE Facebook pages

Additionally District residents will be able to watch the event afterwards for up to one year through the District of Columbia Entertainment Network (DCE), a 24-hour on-demand, streaming network delivering free diverse and inclusive lifestyle, music, live events, sports, arts, variety shows, talks, educational and entertainment programming, courtesy of the DC Office of Cable Television, Film, Music, and Entertainment (OCTFME).
