After missing out on a fight with Canelo Alvarez, David Benavidez has officially moved on.
It was announced that Benavidez (25-0, 22 KOs) will face David Lemieux on May 21st at the Footprint Arena in Phoenix, Arizona.
With a win, there’s been talk about a potential Benavidez-Demetrius Andrade fight. This would fall in line with Canelo’s request that the top fighters fight each other before fighting him.
Lemieux (43-4, 35 KOs) is 3-0 since moving to 168 pounds.
