Maryland Basketball: Ohio State Preview

The Terps are looking to get back in the win column today when they face Ohio State.

Maryland is (13-15, 5-12) in the Big Ten. That’s good for 12th in the conference.

The Buckeyes (18-7, 11-5) come in riding back-to-back wins over Indiana and Illinois.

The last time these two met, Ohio State was on fire offensively in the 82-67 win. EJ Liddell had 24 points and 11 rebounds. The Buckeyes were 11-26 from three.

Keys for Maryland:

Perimeter Defense – Danny Manning always says you’re not going to stop a great scorer you just have to make it tough. The Terps will have to make it tough on Liddell today.

Ayala’s Offense – Since coming off injury, Ayala has been finding his way back in a groove. Today would be a good day to start. He was 2-9 at Ohio State. Can’t have another one of those shooting days.

Defend the Paint – Indiana scored 44 paint points in Maryland’s last outing. The Buckeyes had 32 points in the paint in the first meeting.
