Boxing: Ramirez looks to rebound

On Saturday night, Jose Ramirez returns to the ring after a long layoff.

The last time we saw Ramirez in the ring, he was being dominated by Josh Taylor. Ramirez would be knocked to the canvas twice once in the sixth and again in the seventh round. Ramirez would go on to lose by unanimous decision (114-112 on all three scorecards).

“The loss against Taylor taught me a lot,” said Ramirez. “It was the first of my career, and I feel like it brought back my hunger for boxing again.

José Pedraza has been in with the best. Pedraza has fought Gervonta Davis, Vasiliy Lomachenko, and Jose Zepada.

“José Pedraza is a tough test. He is a very good fighter and has looked good since he adjusted to the 140-pound division. I want to earn another shot at the title. I am not one to talk much. I come to face the best and let my performances in the ring speak for themselves.”
