It’s been reported that Canelo Alvarez (57-1-2, 39 KOs) is close to signing a two-fight deal with Matchroom.
The deal would match up boxing biggest attraction with Dmitry Bivol (19-0, 11 KOs) and a third fight with Gennadiy Golovkin.
The deal reportedly in the $85M neighborhood and would take place in May and September.
There are contingencies. First, Canelo would need to beat Bivol. Despite being undefeate, Bivol doesn’t have a signature win on his resume.
The other factor will be Golovkin’s (41-1-1, 36 KOs) upcoming fight with Ryota Murata.
There’s another deal on the table is Canelo chooses to go in a different direction. Premier Boxing Champions (PBC). Al Haymon has offered a one-fight $45M deal for Canelo to fight Jermall Charlo.
