The 18 month process in transitioning from the Washington Redskins to the new name has had a lot of twists and turns.
“As an organization, we are excited to rally and rise together as one under our new identity while paying homage to our local roots and what it means to represent the nation’s capital,” said co-owner and co-CEO Dan Snyder.
It appeared that the fans wanted the nickname the RedWolves but that wasn’t available due to trademark issues.
