What’s Next for Tiger

Ever since his accident, the question for Tiger Woods was… what’s next?

What we found out this past weekend was the answer to the question. Who cares?

What Woods has done for golf cannot be put into words. He took a game that was thought of as exclusive and made it mainstream. I wouldn’t say golf is inclusive but it is more available to different walks of life than its ever been. That is 100% due to Woods’ impact on television viewers.

Like the Williams’ sisters in tennis, Woods made people believe they could try out a game that never embraced people of color.

There’s been bumps along the way. There was the public misdeeds he had during his marriage. There was the car accident that almost cost him his leg.

For too long, we have always looked at Woods through the lens of others. He was reduced to wins, top 10 finishes and television ratings. Woods had long ceased being a person. He was charge code for networks and the PGA. Financially speaking it’s a been a win-win for Woods and all involved.

If you believe everything happens for a reason, the accident gave us a view of what’s next for Woods.

It’s being a Dad to his son Charlie. It’s being Charlie’s biggest fan and supporter. It’s being to Charlie what his Dad was to him.

It’s best the “next” that a father can have.
