George Mason Basketball: Georgia

George Mason broke a five game losing streak when they defeated Navy, 71-65.

The Patriots (5-5) will try to build upon the victory when they travel to Athens to face Georgia. Assistant coach, Dennis Felton, used to be the head coach of the Bulldogs.

Georgia had a four game losing streak before scoring back to back wins over Memphis and Jacksonville.

Both teams will be coming off an 11 day break.

Josh Oduro leads the Patriots in scoring at 18.1 points per game. Oduro is coming off his first 30+ point game in his career. He had 32 points (11-16 FG) to go along with seven rebounds, a season-best three assists and two steals in the win.

About UGA

The Bulldogs have their own big man who leads them in scoring. Braelen Bridges (6’11”) leads four Bulldogs who average in double digits in scoring at 12.7 points per game.

Jailyn Ingram will miss the game with a torn ACL.

Starting point guard, Aaron Cook (11.0 ppg) averages almost 7 assists per game and is only 37 assists away from 400.

Keys:

Point of Attack: As Cook goes, the Bulldogs will go. Devon Cooper and James Hartwell will need to control Cook on the offensive end. The Patriots will need to pressure Cook enough to get the Bulldogs offense out of rhythm.

Three Point Shooting: On the road, George Mason’s three point shooting must serve as a weapon to open up space for Oduro. In the last two games, sharp shooter D’Shawn Schwartz in only 2-9 from long distance.
