For the second consecutive week, Aminu Mohammed was name Big East Freshman of the Week.
Mohammed averaged a double-double (18.0 ppg, 11.5 rpg) in wins over UMBC and Syracuse. He shot 50.0 percent (12-24) from the floor and 10-11 from the free throw line.
Mohammed’s second half against the Orange helped propel the Hoyas to victory. He scored 20 of his career-high 23 points in the final 20 minutes.
Kaiden Rice was named to the Big East Honor Roll. The Citadel transfer hit a clutch three pointer down the stretch against Syracuse. That comes on the heels of a record setting performance against UMBC. Rice hit a program record 10 3-pointers on 12 attempts.
