The old adage that “styles makes fights” has been true throughout boxing history and it still stands today.
After his loss to Teofimo Lopez, Vasiliy Lomachenko (15-2) fought Masayoshi Nakatani. Lomachenko knew that Nakatani would come forward and take chances. That was the perfect style for Lomachenko.
As expected, Lomachenko had his superior boxing skills on display as he dispatched of Nakatini with a TKO win.
In his second fight since the Lopez loss, Lomachenko will face Richard Commey on Saturday.
Commey (30-3) will come straight ahead providing Lomachenko with a chance to have another win by stoppage. Lomachenko will have plenty of chances to use his quick feet to get away from Commey’s right hand. That should set Lomachenko up to land some bone crushing counter punchers.
That’s not to say this will be a simple fight for Lomachenko. Commey has knockout power in that right hand. It’s to say that this fight sets up all kinds of opportunity for Lomachenko because the style fits.
