George Mason Basketball: Morgan State Wrap Up

The game got off slow as the teams combined to miss their first 14 shots from the field.

It didn’t stay that way for Mason long as they would ride their hot shooting to a 90-53 win over Morgan State.

Josh Oduro led the Patriots with 22 points and 6 rebounds.

George Mason shot a red hot 15-33 from the field.

Mason led 3-0 at the under 16 with all three coming on free throws.

Mason quickly warmed up and started becoming more aggressive by putting the ball on the floor and driving.

With Mason leading 13-12, they would catch fire and go on a 16-2 run. It started out with back to back three pointers by D’Shawn Schwartz. That opened up the floor for Josh Oduro and that didn’t disappoint as he scored eight straight points. The run was finished up by Devon Cooper layup and the blowout was on.

The Patriots would shoot 50% from the field (37.5% from three) in the first half to take a 43-27 lead at halftime.

George Mason continued to push the ball up the floor as they started the half on a 12-2 run.

Later in the half, the Patriots would go on a three-point run making three in a row. Two by Cooper and one by Schwartz.

The Patriots would finish with four players in double-figures.
