Boxing: Do we appreciate Shawn Porter?

Shawn Porter faces Terence Crawford on November 20th. It seems like Porter is a tad bit underappreciated. He has a very respectable 31-3-1 record. His three losses are to Kell Brook, Keith Thurman and Errol Spence. You could easily argue that his fight against Spence was Spence’s toughest.

Porter owns wins against Yordenis Ugas, Danny Garcia, Andre Berto, and Adrian Broner.

Not only has Porter fought some of the best, he’s always a fan friendly fighter. His “Bull in a China Shop” type style allows for some classic exchanges and that all fans like to see.

Expect much of the same against Crawford. There’s no doubt that both fighters will spend the majority of the fight in the pocket. That suits Porter just fine.

If the fight goes 12 rounds, it’s almost guaranteed to be a classic.
