Solheim Cup: Day 3 Singles

The US showed a lot of toughness yesterday and are well within striking distance of the European team. The Americans were down 5.5-2.5 and were behind in all four Sunday Foursomes matches before staging an incredible comeback to win three of the four matches.

The US team did leave some points on the table in the afternoon falling 2.5-1.5 in that session. So here we are. Europeans are up 9-7 going into what used to be Sunday singles (today is Monday).

The strategy is interesting. The Europeans are going with their strongest players at the very top. The US has more of a balanced approach starting with Lexi Thompson and ending with Danielle Kang.

One of the matches to keep an eye on is Jennifer Kupcho vs Leona Maguire. It’s an ol’ ACC matchup. Kupcho went to Wake. Maguire attended Duke.
